2024-2025 School Year
Tuesday, September 10, 7pm
The first PTA meeting of the school year. Board introductions were made. The following topics were quickly discussed: Membership, Fundraising, Events/Support, and the FCPS Family Vision Program. The proposed budget was presented by the Treasurer and approved by the members. Mr. Eric Underhill ended the meeting with all school updates and all questions asked and answered.

Tuesday, November 19, 7:30pm
This PTA meeting focused on the following PTA Updates: The current Restaurant Nights, Spirit Wear delivery, Honor Roll Donuts, Family Vision Group Meeting and Community Outreach. Also had informative guest speakers from Food For Neighbors. Then the Principal's Update and ending Approving the Bylaws.

2023 - 2024 School Year
March 13
Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist for the West Potomac pyramid, Elizabeth Knudson, gave an informative presentation on the latest trends in our area. Narcan training was also provided.
January 10
Student Services Representatives from Sandburg and West Potomac presented information for rising 9th Grade parents on course selections.
November 8
Following updates from PTA President, Amy Tilman, and Principal Underhill, there was a presentation on several different online sites/apps used by parents and students by Ms. Brianna Lucas, Technology Coach.

September 20
The first PTA meeting of the school year included an overview of planned PTA priorities, and the budget was approved. Mr. Underhill gave a school update including opportunities for student leadership, and that there are currently over 80 students participating in Cross Country which became available this year. Mr. Carter provided information on After School Activities.

2022-2023 School Year
Tuesday, May 16
The final PTA meeting of school year 2022-23 included a potluck, news on the 8th Grade Dance, plus votes on key positions for the PTA Board: President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Click here to view the meeting minutes.
Tuesday, March 14
The PTA held another very successful PTA meeting, with nearly 30 parents, staff, and students in attendance. Principal Underhill provided a terrific update on recent events and accomplishments. He also described to initiatives under consideration by school administration and faculty. In addition, we hosted Elizabeth Knudson, West Potomac Substand Abuse Prevention Specialist, who provided a sobering description of the landscape of substance abuse in students in our area. She provided insights into how to spot signs of substance abuse, and practical tips on how to prevent it. Watch the recording here. Use Passcode: KF5k1%zS.
Tuesday, January 17
The PTA held its most successful PTA meeting to date with our first ever Potluck and welcoming our new Principal – Mr. Eric Underhill - to the CSMS community. We hosted speakers from West Potomac HS who shared information on rising 9th graders and 8th graders curriculum and class selection for the 2023-2024 school year.
