WHY JOIN THE PTA?
By joining, you will be eligible to vote on the PTA's funding priorities and provide input into how these dollars, that impact all of our students, are spent. Your financial support, volunteer time, and presence at monthly meetings can make a real difference for our children.
WHEN DO WE JOIN THE PTA?
The annual membership drive kicks off on August 1. Your membership lasts until June 30, 2027.
WHAT IS THE PTA?
PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a volunteer child advocacy association working for ALL children and youth in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The PTA brings together parents and teachers who strive towards better education, communication and community involvement. Just being a member helps you and your child feel more connected at school. Parents, teachers and community members that wish to help our children, school and community can join the PTA.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE PTA?
PTA provides opportunities to meet with others who have the same interests as you. By sharing common concerns, you will feel more empowered. Being part of PTA connects families and schools and results in parental support and makes school involvement easier.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BE A PTA MEMBER?
It costs $25 per family or $15 for teachers and staff for an annual membership. All donations to the PTA, including membership dues, are tax deductible.
WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP DUES USED FOR?
A portion is used to cover required fees from local, state, and National PTA organizations. The rest supports our school, students and teacher initiatives and programs.
DO I HAVE TO VOLUNTEER?
The PTA welcomes and encourages everyone to volunteer – HOWEVER, joining the PTA does not obligate you to volunteer. The PTA welcomes volunteers and appreciates as little or as much time as you have to offer. We realize families are busy and know not everyone has extra time – but if you do and want to volunteer, you are definitely welcome!
